My wife ordered off the GF menu and had a reaction after eating the salad with one of the dressings off of their GF menu. We had the manager check the ingredients of the dressing and it contains Modified Food Starch. I agree that they might not know what they are actually calling Gluten Free to be exactly that. Not sure why a high end place would get their dressing from packets and not actually make it from scratch so they would know exactly what the ingredients were!

Lauren - thanks for the heads up about changes at Ruth's Chris. Sounds like either they have an overly eager legal dept. that made them change their stance about what they could say was gf - or they really didn't know what they were doing in the fist place. Sadly, the latter is a common problem and it's only gotten worse since the gluten-free diet became somewhat known as the new diet fad. Many restaurants don't actually get that most of us are not eating gf to be trendy, but are taking care of our health.

Hi, Just a note that you need to call ahead to ensure availability of items. Our server informed me that the creme brulee is no longer GF due to cross contamination. The chocolate sin cake needs to be a previously called in request. He advised me to call at least 3 days in advance if I knew I would be dining at the restaurant so that they could make it.

I was also told that many of the salad dressings are no longer gluten free. And none of the special sauces and preparations for their steaks are okay.

Thanks.

We have eaten at Ruth Chris two times with good results. They are very helpful and mentioned to us that their steaks are cooked with butter, salt, and pepper. My wife is extremely sensitive so if Ruth Chris works for us, you all should be good as well.

Their chocolate roll is also gluten free. They will also tweak any menu item to make it gluten free.
