There’s a local restaurant here in Denver, named Watercourse that bills themself as “Denver’s premier vegeterian restaurant. We speak fluently about allergies just let the wait staff know of your special requests.”
Last night, The Artist and I along with some friends, ended up there for dinner. They did have a few (very few) options listed as gluten free. When I asked our server if the risotto special that night was gluten free, she said she’d check. Her response when she came back was “The general consensus is that it should be ok.” Um, if you speak flutently on allergies, you should know if it is or isn’t safe. I avoided it to be safe.
I ended up with nachos and a side salad. The side salad was $4.50 and honest, I could have gotten the same side salad from a fast-food dollar menu. There was nothing there. Way overpriced.
The nachos were ok – nothing great, but not horrible either. Overall, the best part of the night was the four of us sitting and talking and laughing.
They did have some gluten free chocolate raspberry cake as a dessert option. I’ve had the cake before, and it’s not bad. However, they need to not serve it straight from the fridge where it’s cold and hard.
Overall, for what we paid, I don’t think it was worth it. I won’t go back.
