I am so excited about your site. I was on a medication for two years not knowing it had gluten in it. I was still having symptoms. I didn't eat for one or two days. Only took one medicine and that's when I realize it may be my problem. I thing goggled and find your site!! I discovered it was not gluten free. I stopped taking it and my symptoms are slowing going away. You are a life saver. Thank you so much. I live in OK and a steak house restaurant called Charlestons has a gluten free menu!! Thank you again.

I contacted Jennifer Andres (owner) of South of the Border Restaurant at 8205 E. Regal Ct. in Tulsa regarding gluten free options: Jennifer responded quickly with: This is a growing issue with people nowadays and I appreciate you taking the time to contact me. I am the owner along with my husband Santiago and since it is a family affair it is easier for me to help you with this concern. We had a customer recently who also had the same and we discussed that the fryer is used for all foods and would not be safe, as well as the flat grill. We recommend that you order enchiladas but always specify that the corn tortilla be softened in the microwave and not by the oil from the fryer (we have some ready at all times on the server side for table service) and then you can have shredded chicken, ground beef, or cheese enchiladas with queso, sour cream sauce, cilantro cream sauce, chile verde or ranchero sauce. Avoid the chili (con carne) sauce, it has flour. The beans and rice are safe as well as sour cream, guacamole, salad, caesar salad, borracho beans, and even our famous tortilla soup without the tortilla strips (they are fried). A shrimp coctel would be a great option as well. It is a homemade mexican coctel with shrimp, cilantro, onions and a spicy tomato sauce. Soft tacos on the same warm corn tortillas with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Soup and Salad combo for a lite lunch or a taco salad without the shell for a twist to the salad bore. We have a delicious Chicken and Shrimp Dinner (the chicken is Chicken Fajita and it is grilled on the charbroiler). The shrimp would be best if cooked in a single use skillet for you and not on the flat grill and it is served on rice with a cup of borracho beans and the veggies could also be cooked in a single use skillet, they are sauteed with a delicious italian dressing. Our Authentic menu offers a Chicken, Beef or Shrimp (Camarones Rancheros) Ranchero dish which is our fajita meat sauteed with onions and bell peppers in our red salsa and it is cooked in a single use skillet and is served with rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream and warm corn tortillas (from the microwave). Our Chile Verde is a Pork dish sauteed in our chile verde sauce in a single use saute pan and served with rice, beans, and sour cream and guacamole with warm corn tortillas. P.S. I think that warm corn tortillas with salsa, guacamole and queso are a great substitute for the hard chips anyday! Add pico for a nice fresh twist!

I hope that I have successfully wet your appetite! LOL! Now I'm craving the Chile Verde! Well, I'm going to sign off of here, but I hope that you will come and visit us soon and feel free to ask for me, Jennifer or Santiago, my husband for assistance with ordering. We will do our best to help you to have an enjoyable experience!

My husband and I ate there for lunch today, and wow. Loved it. Good food, great service and good prices. I even took my own GF chips.
