Until cooks and places of business prepare an area and dedicated equipment that is gluten free there is no guarantee. A steak put on a rack or pan that just cooked a breaded item can cause an attack. It does happen, because it is still not viewed as a problem. People still do not know what celiac sprue is or gluten for that matter. To eat out is taking a chance on your health.
